"Whether it's by car, plane, ship or helicopter, TriWest representatives have done 'Whatever it Takes' to educate our Service members, retirees and their families about the TRICARE benefits they are entitled to receive," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr., who attended the briefing and celebration. "On the road to this milestone, we've traveled across our West region to educate, inform and reassure our beneficiaries about the health care coverage they have when their loved one is deployed or retiring."

During TRICARE educational briefings, TriWest representatives explain TRICARE benefits, including how beneficiaries can save money by taking advantage of TRICARE's mail-order pharmacy and choosing from TriWest's network of more than 130,000 health care providers to avoid paying out-of-network costs.

"Helping our service members, retirees and families navigate through their TRICARE benefits is our number one priority," McIntyre said.

Streaming videos of TRICARE educational briefings for Guard and Reserve members are available on TriWest's National Guard & Reserve Resource Center at http://www.triwest.com. Beneficiaries can choose educational briefings on topics such as active duty benefits, post-activation and TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE's health care plan for members of the National Guard and Reserve, and their families.

At Saturday's TRICARE educational briefing, TriWest named retired Col. Henry Martin of the Kansas National Guard as its 1 millionth beneficiary briefed and contributed $10,000 to the Kansas National Guard Foundation as chosen by Henry.
