TriWest Healthcare Alliance Educates 1 Millionth Beneficiary at TRICARE Benefits Briefing

PHOENIX, April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- TriWest Healthcare Alliance briefed its 1 millionth beneficiary Saturday at a TRICARE educational event in Topeka, Kan. Since June 2004, TriWest representatives have traveled throughout the company's 2.3 million square-mile, 21-state West region to conduct tens of thousands of educational briefings for its beneficiaries.

"Whether it's by car, plane, ship or helicopter, TriWest representatives have done 'Whatever it Takes' to educate our Service members, retirees and their families about the TRICARE benefits they are entitled to receive," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr., who attended the briefing and celebration. "On the road to this milestone, we've traveled across our West region to educate, inform and reassure our beneficiaries about the health care coverage they have when their loved one is deployed or retiring."

During TRICARE educational briefings, TriWest representatives explain TRICARE benefits, including how beneficiaries can save money by taking advantage of TRICARE's mail-order pharmacy and choosing from TriWest's network of more than 130,000 health care providers to avoid paying out-of-network costs.

"Helping our service members, retirees and families navigate through their TRICARE benefits is our number one priority," McIntyre said.
