Leading healthcare investment bank Leerink Swann today announced that Thomas Bassinger has recently joined the Firm’s Investment Banking group as a Managing Director, reporting to James Boylan, Head of Investment Banking. Mr. Bassinger will focus on private capital market advisory opportunities as well as advancing strategic relationships with corporate and venture capital clients.

Mr. Bassinger brings 20 years of investment banking, private equity, and strategy consulting experience across multiple industries, including healthcare and technology, to Leerink Swann. He joins the Firm from Rockport Venture Partners, a private placement specialist firm serving life science clients that he co-founded in 2001, where he helped raise over $750M in private equity capital for more than 35 venture-backed companies. In the course of his career, Mr. Bassinger has also co-founded and held senior executive positions in two high-growth, venture backed companies and played a key role in raising over $60 million in private equity for those organizations.
