Tennessee health system awards $400 bonus to entire staff after record earnings

After record earnings in the last year, Erlanger Health System, the largest provider in Chattanooga, Tennessee, will award $400 bonuses to each of its more than 3,000 non-managerial employees, according to the Chattanooga Times-Free Press, with payouts totaling $1.4 million. Executives, meanwhile, will receive $2.1 million in bonuses divided between 124 executives. The hospital more than tripled its earnings in 2015, reaching an all-time high of $37.3 million, wiping out losses of $36 million between 2008 and 2013. "We were able to grow revenues, and better manage costs and we achieved this turnaround without laying off any employees," Chief Financial Officer Brett Tabor told the newspaper. Article
