Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care and surgery, has, through its wholly owned Australian subsidiary LMA PacMed Pty Ltd, finalized a supplier agreement with the Healthscope Group of Hospitals for the supply of laryngeal mask airways and associated products. The supplier agreement is for an initial period of three years with an option for a further two years and confers a preferred supplier status for LMA PacMed and its airway products.

LMA PacMed is the Australian market leading supplier of airway management devices, having launched the original laryngeal mask airway in 1989. Since then the company has consolidated its portfolio with a range of innovative airway devices, including the flagship 2 Generation laryngeal mask, the LMA SupremeAirway.

The Healthscope Group currently operates 46 facilities throughout Australia and represents one of the largest and fastest growing private hospital groups in the country.

Liam Kelly, Executive Vice President and President, International, stated, “This landmark agreement was a natural evolution of the close relationship LMA PacMed has enjoyed with Healthscope over many years, and an opportunity for both companies to work together to continue to improve patient outcomes through the quality and clinically proven nature of its innovative products, its high levels of service, and valued educational support."

Since its inception in 1985 Healthscope has grown to become Australia's largest provider of integrated healthcare, providing private hospital, medical centre and pathology services in every state and territory of Australia. Healthscope also operates an expanding network of pathology services in New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.

Healthscope operates over 4,500 inpatient beds across 33 hospitals, 4 dedicated mental health hospitals and 4 rehabilitation facilities and also manages 3 hospitals on behalf of the ACHA Group in South Australia.

Healthscope’s portfolio is diverse and includes large high acuity metropolitan hospitals, some co-located with public hospitals, as well as regional and suburban hospitals. The facilities provide a range of clinical services including medical, surgical, specialized rehabilitation and mental health.
