State of Illinois Awards PersonalCare 90-Day Emergency Contracts for State Employees Benefits Coverage

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- PersonalCare Insurance of Illinois, Inc. (PersonalCare) is one of the carriers that was awarded 90-day emergency contracts for offering health coverage to State employees. PersonalCare's HMO plan and the Open Access Plan (OAP), which is administered by PersonalCare, are both available to State employees.

The PersonalCare HMO plan currently serves more than 30,000 State employees, dependents and retirees. The plan is available in 60 counties throughout Illinois. A map of the HMO service area is available at www.personalcare.org.

The OAP has three tiers of benefits to offer State employees the broadest choice of providers in all 102 counties throughout the state.

  • Tier One — highest level of benefits, includes more than 220 hospitals and nearly 32,000 participating providers throughout the State of Illinois and neighboring communities
  • Tier Two — includes coverage for services received from an additional 9,000 participating providers in Illinois, as well as nationwide access to more than 570,000 providers in the Coventry National Network
  • Tier Three — includes out-of-network providers
