Sneak Preview: NCQA Accreditation of Accountable Care Organizations (ACO)

WHAT: A briefing by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) about its new accreditation program for Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) that launches November 21.

ACO accreditation is an independent evaluation of health care delivery organizations’ ability to coordinate the high-quality, efficient, patient-centered care expected of ACOs.

NCQA Accreditation is designed:

  • To help ACOs distinguish themselves from competitors
  • To help purchasers and providers identify ACOs that are likely to be effective partners
  • To help consumers find providers who are committed to providing the care they need, when they need it.
