CHICAGO and WACONIA, Minn., Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) announced today that Ridgeview Medical Center has selected the Allscripts Electronic Health Record and Practice Management solution, as well as the Allscripts Community Record powered by dbMotion to deliver end-to-end connectivity across its health system and the communities it serves.

Ridgeview will use the solution to create Minnesota's first functioning community Health Information Exchange (HIE), providing the more than 300 Ridgeview employed and affiliated physicians shared access to a single, unified patient record. By delivering one source of information about patient health history, the Allscripts Community Record allows providers in separate organizations to collaborate while providing patient care, regardless of the clinical technologies they use.

"We are excited to partner with Allscripts to create an integrated health care environment," said Gordon Gablenz, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Ridgeview Medical Center.

According to Gablenz, Ridgeview selected the Allscripts Community Record because Ridgeview believes that it provides superior functionality, especially when combined with the Allscripts EHR which is already in its provider community.

"Ridgeview Medical Center's leadership will help provide physicians in the southwest metro region of the Twin Cities seamless access through their daily workflow to a virtual patient record that's shared across multiple organizations," said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. "We're excited to team with Ridgeview and their partners to build a connected community of health through which all caregivers have access to information that is meaningful for their patients."
