M.D. Joins PointClear's Leadership Team to Lead Product Strategy Practice

NASHVILLE, Tenn. and HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PointClear Solutions, Inc.– an innovation leader specializing in health information technology (HIT) product development services – has named Rodney Hamilton, M.D. to its newly created CMIO position and managing director of its product strategy practice.

PointClear's leadership team has been strengthened with an M.D. who is also an HIT industry veteran with executive roles at McKesson (NYSE: MCK) and Vanguard Health Systems.  Dr. Hamilton was recruited based on his deep understanding and practical experience within the healthcare industry including insight into new evolving opportunities for disruption and innovation.  The product strategy practice will accelerate PointClear's ability to provide greater benefit to its clients and partners as it expands on the announcement of the newly formed physician panel announced last month.

Dr. Hamilton's focus is on assisting healthcare organizations achieve their goals through the strategic use of information technology either via the implementation or integration of existing technologies and/or the development of custom solutions. In this role, he leads the physician advisory panel that assists PointClear with understanding and responding to current and emerging trends in healthcare delivery. In addition, he continues to practice pediatrics on a limited basis at a private practice he co-founded in 2006. He is an administrator and active user of an ambulatory EMR in that setting, and remains an active member of the clinical staff at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
