Picis High Acuity Clinical Solutions Achieve Federal Meaningful Use Certification

Picis Perioperative Solutions and Emergency Department EHR Meet Criteria to Help Providers Qualify for ARRA Incentives

WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Picis announced it has received federal meaningful use certification for its emergency department information system (EDIS) and perioperative and critical care products as Electronic Health Records (EHR) Modules to enable hospitals to qualify for federal government incentive funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). These Picis solutions have been inspected and achieved compliance with functionality, interoperability and security criteria defined by the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology for 2011/2012 to support Stage 1 meaningful use measures.

Meaningful use certification from ONC is an important factor for physicians and hospitals to consider as they evaluate health IT solutions if they hope to qualify for the U.S. government’s incentive funding, demonstrate meaningful use, and meet established criteria for keeping data secure. Picis solutions – including ED PulseCheck 5.0, and OR Manager, Anesthesia Manager, PACU Manager and Critical Care Manager 8.1* – have been certified individually in order to provide flexibility for clients in product selection and implementation.

“Meaningful use certification is important because it supports the ongoing commitment of Picis to help hospitals achieve deeper improvements in productivity, quality, clinician decision support and assessment of care protocols in order to optimize patient care,” said Todd Cozzens, CEO of Picis.
