Oakwood Recognized for Demonstrating Exemplary Meaningful Use and Innovation
BOSTON & DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- PatientKeeper®, Inc., the leading provider of physician information technology, announced at the annual PatientKeeper User Conference that Oakwood Healthcare System is the recipient of the 2010 PatientKeeper Customer Innovation Award. Oakwood was recognized for its demonstration of exemplary and innovative deployment methodology and subsequent high rates of physician adoption and use of the PatientKeeper Physician Portal™ within the Oakwood Health System. The annual PatientKeeper Customer Innovation Award recognizes a PatientKeeper customer that best demonstrates the use of PatientKeeper applications to achieve high levels of innovation throughout its organization.
Oakwood selected PatientKeeper’s Physician Information Technology to enhance community connectivity and improve physician workflow, while increasing physician alignment within the Oakwood Healthcare System. Over a 10 week period ending in December 2009, Oakwood deployed PatientKeeper (branded as OakCare Connect) to over 500 users. Since then their user population has grown to more than 1,000, including almost 600 physicians which represents roughly 50% of its physician community. Today, physicians across the enterprise can utilize PatientKeeper to access patient data that has been pulled from multiple disparate systems across the enterprise into a single software environment that is both simple and easy to use and saves physicians time.
“We are honored to be recognized by PatientKeeper for our focus on physician healthcare technology adoption and the ability to share patient information with the community physicians,” said Paula Smith, chief information officer of Oakwood. “Our focus has and will continue to be improving quality by providing tools to our physicians to ensure safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care. Our work with PatientKeeper is a major component of the strategic plan and was highly instrumental in reaching our goal in 2009.”
“We are thrilled to present Oakwood with the PatientKeeper 2010 Customer Innovation Award for its persistent drive, intense collaboration and, most notably, the organization-wide enthusiasm that resonated throughout the implementation process and continues today,” said Paul Brient, president and CEO of PatientKeeper. “We look forward to further developing our partnership with Oakwood and to helping them create new opportunities to automate the daily lives of physicians.”
