- Healthcare Information and/or Telecommunications Technology – Consumer Facing
- Healthcare Information and/or Telecommunications Technology – Business-Facing
- Medical Device
- Approaches to the Delivery of Healthcare
“We are honored to be recognized by the ABL in this prestigious competition. PathCentral, a newly formed entity, was created after key members of management seasoned in the pathology industry identified an underserved niche in the community pathology marketplace. PathCentral develops and provides community pathologists end-to-end solutions that enable them to better serve the local communities in which they operate. Our web-based IT platform, integrated laboratory testing facility and full-service marketing and sales (outreach) assistance program contains all the critical components needed to allow community pathologists to successfully and competitively operate in the areas they serve. Our solutions have already helped in excess of 1,000 community pathologists throughout the country. The acknowledgement of our much needed services by the ABL Organization further demonstrates the importance of our innovative platform, and we are extremely grateful for this recognition,” explained Matthew Watson, chief executive officer at PathCentral.
Mimi Grant, ABL president, said: “In our 13th year of selecting Finalists for the ABBY Awards, the committee was truly impressed with the caliber of all the nominees, representing companies from throughout North America. Not only are they all innovative, but each has convincingly demonstrated that they are currently in use in the U.S., and have clinical and financial metrics that prove their product or service reduces the cost of providing quality care.”
The 12 Finalists – three in each of the four categories – were selected by a Committee composed of ABL Members who are C-level healthcare executives with deep knowledge in each of the award areas. Four ABBY Award Winners will be selected via secret ballot by the healthcare executives attending the September 28 event, after viewing presentations made by the CEOs representing each finalist company.
The ABBYs will be presented at the 13th Annual Innovations in HealthcareSM Awards event, on September 28, 2011, to be held at the Marriott Hotel, in Long Beach, Calif.
