OSU Medical Center pays $1.25M to settle malpractice suit

Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center agreed to pay $1.25 million to settle a malpractice lawsuit filed by the family of a patient who underwent surgery in 2009, with complications leaving him in a vegetative state, The Columbus Dispatch reported. The settlement orders the medical center to pay Lucille Jackson and her family a lump sum of $865,000, as well as $385,000 to a trust fund that periodically will make payments to family members.
