nTelagent provides hospital clients with the Retail Application for Healthcare, which allows them to consistently and accurately address point-of-service challenges: upfront determination of patient payment due, upfront collections, discounting of services, insurance verification, charity care, payment plans, price transparency, and medical financing assistance and enrollment.
“In this webinar, we’ll look at how PPACA affects financial assistance and collections requirements, and how hospitals can ensure compliance to avoid penalties,” said Irene Barron, nTelagent COO and product management officer. A hospital business office veteran, Barron will lead the webinars.
Barron continued, “While some uncertainty remains around the new rules, one conclusion is clear: Hospitals must implement an automated, streamlined system that will help them comply with PPACA’s new requirements; manual, binder-based processes won’t suffice. For example, under PPACA, hospitals will need to be able to consistently identify patients who qualify for financial assistance at point of service. In addition, a method must be employed to easily and accurately determine the appropriate amount to charge for services provided to patients who qualify for financial assistance in an emergency room setting. Without an effective, efficient solution in place, these tasks are near impossible, and facilities risk stiff penalties for noncompliance.”
Topics to be covered during the webinar include:
- Review of PPACA’s new requirements regarding financial assistance, billing and collections, limitations on charges, and emergency medical care policies
- “Compliance checklist” and time frame
- Sample templates of written financial assistance policies
- Review of strategies to ensure effective and consistent compliance, and what to look for when choosing a solution
- Attendee question-and-answer session following the presentation
Hospitals using nTelagent’s Retail Application already are in compliance with many of PPACA’s new requirements regarding billing and collections and financial assistance policies. nTelagent will work with current clients to ensure complete compliance with applicable rules, as well as partner with prospective hospital clients to develop a compliance strategy using nTelagent’s easy-to-use Retail Application.
