Nuvon, Inc. announced today thatEvanston, IL-based NorthShore University HealthSystem has selected Nuvon, Inc. (), an industry-leading patient care data integration solution, to provide medical device connectivity and interoperability as part of the current Epic installation for its four-hospital system.

“As a HIMSS Analytics Level 7 hospital with a current Epic implementation, we are totally committed to the quality of patient care and patient safety supported by the electronic sharing and use of patient data,” said NorthShore University HealthSystem Chief Information Officer Steven Smith. “We needed a solution that was flexible for today’s needs as well as tomorrow’s, and a partner who could meet our aggressive implementation schedule.”

“We are delighted to be partnering with NorthShore on this critically important IT and patient care initiative,” said Cathleen Asch, Nuvon Chief Executive Officer. “Having complete, rich, accurate real-time patient data available to clinicians at any location, at all times, will enable hospitals to provide the highest level of patient care and patient safety available today.”

In order for clinicians to make the best patient care decisions, hospitals must ensure that their electronic medical records (EMRs) and clinical decision systems contain meaningful and accurate data from the wide variety of devices that monitor patients. Currently, data from these multiple devices are often collected manually and then entered into the EMR, resulting in delays, time away from patient care, and potentially, errors that can jeopardize patient safety. In addition to having ready access to this real-time, synchronized patient data, clinicians must also be able to access this information at all times, and at any location.

Nuvon delivers on its promise of accurate, real-time patient data, anytime, anywhere, because it is the only system that delivers these five unique benefits:

Other hospitals using the Nuvon System include the Cleveland Clinic, , , Good Shepherd Medical Center, Temple University Health System, Denver Health and Hospital Authority, and others.

. is dedicated to supporting medical device data mastery by simplifying the management of critical patient care data, providing timely medical device data to improve decision-making and patient safety, and enabling clinicians to focus on the care of their patients. Nuvon’s flexible, scalable, and configurable Nuvon System captures, displays, and transmits patient care data at the point of care, anywhere. The Nuvon System distributed network architecture gives caregivers access to data and devices in any location. Nuvon has an installed base of major institutions that recognize the value of Nuvon’s breakthrough approach and cost-effective platform for patient care data capture, transmission, and integration in complex healthcare environments.
