Newly formed ACO, ProHealth solutions, adopts MedVentive solutions

Clinical integration technology to advance the quality and efficiency of healthcare in Wisconsin

WALTHAM, Mass. & WAUKESHA, Wisc.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ProHealth Solutions, a new accountable care organization (ACO) formed by ProHealth Care hospital system of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the Waukesha Elmbrook Health Care (WEHC) independent physician association, has selected MedVentive Population Manager and MedVentive Risk Manager to support its continuing clinical integration journey and new reimbursement methods.

In addition to 475 WEHC physicians, ProHealth Solution’s participants include Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, ProHealth Care’s Center for Behavioral Health, ProHealth Home Care and Hospice, AngelsGrace Hospice and ProHealth Care’s home infusion services. Designed to be eligible to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings Program under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the newly formed ACO will create a culture of clinical integration that promotes healthcare transformation without jeopardizing the doctor-patient bond necessary to provide compassionate care.

The company’s origins as an at-risk provider network and ACO give MedVentive a deep understanding of provider organizations and the healthcare environment. “Through ProHealth Solutions, physicians and hospitals will work more closely together to bring patients in our community even higher quality, better coordinated and more efficient care,” said David Cook, Chief Administrative Officer, ProHealth Solutions. “Underpinning our efforts will be MedVentive’s experience and its comprehensive, proven technology platform, which will provide us with the information necessary to drive continuous clinical quality improvement and promote best practices.”

“We’re looking forward to working with such a progressive organization as ProHealth Solutions,” said Jonathan Niloff Chief Medical Officer and Chairman of the Board MedVentive. “It’s an honor to work with innovative providers who are embracing meaningful change with an emphasis on maintaining the provider-patient bond. About MedVentive

While healthcare was evolving the concept of an accountable care organization, MedVentive was busy operating as one. MedVentive was founded as the Provider Service Network (PSN) in 1997 by the CareGroup Healthcare System, an integrated, at-risk network of 4,500 physicians and eight hospitals that cared for more than 450,000 at-risk patients.

Our origins as an ACO give MedVentive a deep understanding of provider organizations and the healthcare environment. Having been an at-risk provider network, MedVentive is uniquely qualified to support an organization’s transition from a fee-for-service payment environment to risk-based contracting, and provide the clinical integration/population management infrastructure necessary to be successful under this new model.
