New York State Academy of Family Physicians Joins National Healthcare Career Network

Terri Pla, Vice President with the , has announced the addition of the NHCN’s newest partner, the New York State Academy of Family Physicians (). In a statement to the press, Pla said, “With the continuing shortage of family practice doctors, NYSAFP is working diligently to ensure a well-prepared pipeline through its service to medical students and residents in family practice. We welcome the NYSAFP to our Network and know that our partnership will help employers find excellent talent.”

Incorporated in 1948, NYSAFP is the New York State Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians with a mission to promote family practice among medical students, while improving the quality and stature of family medicine. NYSAFP has developed programs for the clinical and leadership development of residents and young family physicians, and many of today’s leaders in family medicine are products of the numerous initiatives that NYSAFP has created and promoted over the years. According to NYSAFP’s executive vice president, Vito Grasso, MPA, CAE, “We strive to provide value to our members with programs and services that support them throughout their careers. As part of the NHCN, we can now offer them direct access to exciting opportunities with employers in New York and across the country.”
