Healthcare products that allow patients to monitor their health at home using cloud-based technology, support the development of premature babies, and use predictive analytics to manage medications are just a few innovative solutions to be showcased at the Premier healthcare alliance’s 2013 .

For the fifth year in a row, Premier will host its annual to recognize advances in healthcare that can improve patient outcomes and reduce waste. Fourteen medical innovations will be on display in front of more than 4,000 healthcare providers and experts on June 11.

“The innovations being showcased tonight are truly remarkable. They help center care around what patients really need, focusing on issues such as reducing overutilization and waste, while supporting the environment,” said Durral R. Gilbert, president of supply chain services, Premier. "We’re excited to debut these advancements to further improve the health of communities.”

All innovations were selected by a committee of clinicians and other Premier alliance members based on their ability to positively impact the healthcare industry. Basic criteria for selection include solutions that display uniqueness, as well as impact an unmet medical need.
