Leading Web resource for HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria information provides journalists with up-to-date global health resources - rights-free video, statistics, overviews, country-specific information and the latest news
MENLO PARK, Calif., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Kaiser Family Foundation announced today that GlobalHealthReporting.org -- its website providing the latest information and reporting resources on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria -- has launched a new video library providing television reporters and filmmakers with AIDS-related, rights-free, cover footage of Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, India and Latin America. The video library can be found online at http://globalhealthreporting.org/videolibrary.asp.
"Quality television reporting requires quality images," said Matt James, Senior Vice President, the Kaiser Family Foundation. "By creating a video library that's easily accessible and free to journalists around the world, we hope to make it easier for them to cover HIV/AIDS and other global health issues and increase awareness of the global health challenges we face."
The clip reels are organized by region and contain a variety of video sequences including doctors treating patients, AIDS drug manufacturing, AIDS counseling sessions, HIV prevention and awareness classes, blood tests and city and rural settings. The clip reels can be screened online and then ordered in a variety of formats. The library will be updated periodically and expanded to include more regions and other global health conditions. It currently contains footage contributed by Family Health International, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs and the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on the Public Broadcasting System. The Kaiser Video Library is a free, online service for journalists around the world who report on public health issues and the latest addition to GlobalHealthReporting.org, a free Web site operated by the Kaiser Family Foundation with major support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
