National Program to Feature Medical Innovations Addressing Newborn Safety, Electronic Medical Record Interoperability, Inf

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Eighteen new medical innovations will be featured during a national program focusing on innovation and performance improvement in healthcare.

The Premier healthcare alliance’s Innovation Celebration recognizes advances in healthcare by highlighting innovations of industry suppliers that are committed to improving patient outcomes. The innovations focus on issues ranging from newborn safety and preventing healthcare-associated infections to electronic medical record interoperability.

Participants in the third annual Innovation Celebration will be featured before 4,000 healthcare providers and experts on Tuesday, June 14, at the 2011 Premier Annual Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition in Nashville, Tenn.

All innovations were selected by a committee of clinicians and other Premier alliance members based on the ability to positively impact the healthcare industry. Basic criteria for selection included solutions that displayed uniqueness, as well as those that impact an unmet medical need.

All suppliers, regardless of whether the company is contracted with Premier, can be considered for participation in the Innovation Celebration. Overall, Premier contracts with more than 800 suppliers.
