Mollen Immunization Clinics to Provide Free Pneumonia Immunizations to Society of St. Vincent de Paul and The Marc Center

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Mollen Immunization Clinics (“Mollen”), one of the largest providers of immunization and other wellness and prevention services in the United States, announced today that it will be providing free pneumonia immunization clinics for the individuals served by Society of St Vincent de Paul, Phoenix, and The Marc Center of Mesa Incorporated.

Mollen Immunization Clinics will offer $135,000 worth of free pneumonia immunizations. The exact times of the clinics are posted on Mollen Immunization Clinics’ website, Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s website and The Marc Center of Mesa’s website

The free pneumonia immunization clinics will be held the week of May 9th. Society of St. Vincent de Paul clinics will be held in the Henry Unger, Chris Becker and Wayne Unruh Memorial Dining Rooms, and the Dan O’Meara Center during normal meal service times. The Marc Center of Mesa Incorporated clinic will be at its main facility. Mollen Immunization Clinics is donating all of the vaccines, and Mollen nurses will be volunteering their time to administer the shots.

“We are proud to provide free pneumonia immunizations to our neighbors in need,” said John Roehm, CEO of Mollen Immunization Clinics. “The Mollen name has long been associated with helping those in need take care of their health, and we are proud to partner with Society of St. Vincent de Paul to provide this very important healthcare service to the most vulnerable members of our community.”

“We are grateful to Mollen Immunization Clinics for providing free pneumonia immunizations to the populations we serve,” said Jerry Castro, Manager of Dining Rooms at Society of St. Vincent de Paul. “The individuals we serve are among the most vulnerable members of society when it comes to illnesses such as pneumonia. We truly appreciate Mollen’s commitment to the health of our community.”

In addition to the vaccines available in the dining rooms, Mollen is donating 200 vaccines for use in the St. Vincent de Paul Virginia G. Piper Medical & Dental Clinic. According to Janice Ertl, Clinic Director, all of the medical patients at the site are uninsured, and many have chronic conditions that make them more susceptible to pneumonia. “We have never been able to offer the vaccine in the past, and the fact that it will be good for 10 years is of tremendous benefit.”

“In tough economic times with insurance co-pays and deductibles continuously increasing, The Marc Center can't express how much we appreciate Mollen offering free pneumonia shots to our staff and clients. Thank you, Mollen, for going the extra step and making a difference in the lives of those we serve!” said Janey Durham, Vice President of The Marc Center of Mesa.
