LIVINGSTON, N.J., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- meridianEMR, Inc., a leading provider of electronic health records and advanced healthcare analytics for urology and surgical practices today announced its latest ambulatory electronic heath record system (EHR), meridianEMR version 4.2 is a Pre-Market CCHIT Certified® 2011 Ambulatory EHR, pending advanced ePrescribing and operational use verification.
The CCHIT Certified® 2011 program is differentiated from the Preliminary American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) program by providing a rigorous, multi-faceted evaluation of integrated EHR functionality, interoperability and security.
According to Michael Custode, Chief Executive Officer of meridianEMR, Inc., our 4.2 version earned a Five Star usability rating which is the highest achievable designation within the CCHIT Certified® 2011 program. "We believe that achieving CCHIT certification for our EHR application is a reflection of meridianEMR's commitment and the exceptional development and testing efforts of our staff. We feel this certification validates those efforts by providing an impartial assurance that meridianEMR's EHR is thoroughly tested and meets CCHIT's consensus-based criteria."
To achieve certification, the meridianEMR's EHR was subjected to CCHIT's inspection process that is comprised of real-life medical scenarios designed to test products rigorously against the functionality, interoperability and security needs of providers. Certification by CCHIT designates that an EHR product has passed inspection of 100 percent of CCHIT's 2011 criteria.
The goals of CCHIT product certification are to reduce the risk of health information technology (HIT) investment by physicians and other providers; ensuring interoperability of HIT products; enhancing the availability of HIT adoption incentives from purchasers and payers; and to protect the privacy of personal health information.
"We are pleased to be among the EHR systems in the country certified under the most recent CCHIT Certified® 2011 Ambulatory EHR criteria. meridianEMR has long been an advocate of EHR adoption and is committed to providing top line EHR solutions to both the urology and surgical communities with future plans for expansion into other medical specialties," adds Custode.
meridianEMR will be offering "live" demonstrations of their urology specific products at the American Urological Association (AUA) 2010 Annual Meeting in San Francisco, May 29 - June 1, at booth #3335. Representatives from meridianEMR will be on-hand to answer all questions on their urologyEHR.
