The government's new online tool designed to help American seniors select a prescription drug plan when the new Medicare Part D benefit goes into effect January 1 is apparently still having problems. CMS administrator Dr. Mark McClellan was scheduled to debut the new service at a press conference in Washington yesterday; but according to media reports, the debut of the service, which was originally slated to launch in October, did not go very well. Critics say the disappointing government Web site is symbolic of the problems with the complex plan. CMS says all that is needed is a little fine tuning.
