LAS VEGAS & WAYNE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MEDecision, Inc., a leading provider of collaborative health care management solutions, will leverage the spotlight of AHIP (America’s Health Insurance Plans) Institute 2010 to demonstrate how its products and services will help health plans prepare to meet the mandates of healthcare reform. The company will have a broad and dynamic presence at the event which will be held June 9-11 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

“AHIP Institute is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase that MEDecision has the means now to help insurers meet the medical management requirements of reform, regardless of what those may ultimately be,” said Scott A. Storrer, president and CEO at MEDecision. “Once again this year, we will have a significant presence at the event to underscore how our continued innovation, collaborative alliances, and thought leadership give us unmatched resources to facilitate our customers’ growth in the changing market.”

MEDecision’s news highlights will include:

  • Alineo® 3.0, the latest version of the Alineo collaborative health care management platform, which features a new behavioral health utilization module designed to support compliance with the 2009 Federal Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, and provide the capability for organizations to operate Alineo on the Microsoft® SQL Server® Enterprise platform, in addition to those it currently supports.
  • Nexalign iEXCHANGE® 8.0, the latest version of MEDecision’s collaborative decision support service, which now extends behavioral health utilization management to providers, allowing them to more effectively communicate to health plans the full spectrum of a patient’s mental health. It also enables them to send patient medical records and other documents directly to health plans to facilitate decision making and compliance.
  • A new strategic alliance that will make MEDecision’s Clinical Summaries available to upwards of 800,000 healthcare providers.

A Presidential sponsor of AHIP Institute 2010, MEDecision’s conference events include:

  • A private, complimentary social gathering for all AHIP Institute attendees to network with MEDecision management and other colleagues on The Terrace at PURE Nightclub in Caesars Palace on Wednesday, June 9 from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • A case study presentation — “Closing the Gaps, Examining the Medical Home Model” — during the conference’s Networking Breakfast session on Thursday, June 10 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. MEDecision Vice President of Medical Home Initiatives Matt Adamson and Elaine Olzawski, RN, MPH, senior director of health care management, BlueCross BlueShield of Oklahoma/Health Care Service Corporation, will conduct the session.

In addition, MEDecision will maintain an interactive booth space (#201) in the AHIP Institute exhibit hall.

“We’re clearly not taking a wait-and-see approach to the post-reform healthcare market,” Storrer said. “AHIP attendees will understand how our existing solutions and continued innovation enable us to support the industry’s changing needs right now. We’re very excited about where we are and where we’re headed, and that message will be apparent to people who interact with us at the conference.”

Held annually, AHIP Institute gathers thousands of representatives from throughout the health insurance industry and related sectors for several days of educational seminars, keynote speeches, workshops, networking opportunities and associated activities. The event’s exhibit hall features more than 200 companies showcasing the latest innovations in technology and services designed to help insurers improve the quality and effectiveness of health care.
