Mayo Clinic Completes HERO Best Practice Scorecard Pilot Program

ROCHESTER, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Mayo Clinic Health Solutions was one of four organizations participating in a pilot program to evaluate the practical application of the Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO) Employee Health Management Best Practice Scorecard. The HERO Scorecard evaluates the effectiveness of employers' Employee Health Management (EHM) programs based on their use of best practices. The pilot helped gauge the HERO Scorecard’s value to organizations and the ability to correlate best practices to positive program outcomes.

The HERO Scorecard questions serve as a checklist of best practices in each of six elements of Employee Health Management: Strategic Planning, Leadership Engagement, Program-Level Management, Programs, Engagement Methods and Measurement and Evaluation. The practices were assigned scores based on their contribution to program success. The Scorecard also tracks participation rates, cost and outcomes using metrics selected by industry EHM experts.

“As consultants in population health management, we are committed to helping our clients achieve best practice program designs and ultimately positive outcomes. The Scorecard has complemented our efforts in doing so,” says Kurt Hobbs, Mayo Clinic Health Management Strategy Consultant.
