Liaison Technologies and Preventice Partner to Give HealthCare Providers Remote Access to Patient Data, Bridging Gaps in C

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The expansion of mobile technology into healthcare has the potential to transform care delivery, drive greater efficiency and improve patient outcomes. A new partnership between Liaison Technologies, a global provider of secure cloud-based integration and data management services and solutions, and Preventice, a leading developer of mobile health applications and remote monitoring systems brings the industry one step closer to these goals.

Through this partnership, Preventice will use its wireless monitoring technology to collect patient data wherever an individual might be and transmit that data, via Liaison, to the cloud. Healthcare providers can then securely access the entire Liaison healthcare ecosystem, which integrates the patient’s biometric data with their electronic health record (EHR) and lab diagnostics. Providers and patients alike will be able to retrieve health information via secure web portals such as Microsoft HealthVault® using mobile devices. This increased access to data will result in better patient monitoring.

“Data is of greatest value when used to improve health outcomes, and one way to improve outcomes is to improve diagnostic capabilities and patient decision making,” said Richard Tanler, senior vice president of strategic partners at Preventice. “Our partnership with Liaison allows us to collect patient data via wireless and remote applications and to store that data in the individual’s electronic health record in the most secure and seamless manner, and in a way that is optimized for clinical and operational decision support.”

Through this collaboration, providers will have greater access to more data, so they can analyze a patient’s health more closely when needed. Remote patient monitoring for people with cardiac conditions is just one example of how the Preventice and Liaison partnership can benefit both doctors and patients. In this situation, providers use wireless sensors from Preventice to collect environmental and biometric data (such as EKG data) from the patient. Regardless of where the patient is or what they’re doing, this essential data is recorded and stored in the patient’s EHR via Liaison’s healthcare ecosystem. The patient’s care team can then access the data to inform their diagnosis and treatment plan.

“Our data integration services will enhance the capabilities of the sensor, supplying providers with the information they need to make more accurate assessments of a patient’s health,” said Gary Palgon, Liaison’s vice president of healthcare solutions. “This partnership places great emphasis on the importance of data for improving patient care, and we look forward to working closely with Preventice in the development of this project.”
