Language Access Network Receives Federal Therapeutic Discovery Grant Recognizing Industry Leaders Improving Health Outcome

LAN is Only Language Services Company to Receive the Grant

COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Language Access Network announced today that it was awarded a prestigious grant under the recently enacted Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act specifically related to the U.S. Government's Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project (“QTDP”) program. The QTDP program provides funding support for projects with potential for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. The award selection process also took into consideration those projects which demonstrate the greatest potential to succeed and to create and sustain high paying, high quality U.S. jobs and to advance the U.S. competitiveness in the life sciences. The Therapeutic Discovery grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and was approved by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

“Proper and trusted communication is integral to Therapeutic discovery,” stated Andrew Panos, COO of LAN. “The quality and ease of use of tools are critically important in facilitating the discovery process and yielding accurate data that leads to the discoveries that improve wellness and outcomes.”

LAN anticipates applying the grant money towards providing technologies that offer immediate access to services as well as increasing staffing to meet the rapidly growing demand.

“LAN is proud to be recognized for its contributions and is pleased to be serving some of the top academic and research institutions in the United States including: Memorial Sloan Kettering, Ohio State University Medical Center, University Hospitals Case Medical Center, Texas Childrens Hospital and Nationwide Childrens Hospital, among others,” said James B. Edwards, CEO of LAN. “We look forward to continuing to serve these institutions as they strive to cure disease and develop new life saving protocols.”
