“Expanding to Chicago is a milestone development for our growing firm and it helps our clients further strengthen ties with the many national healthcare trade media and associations based there,” says David Jarrard, chief executive officer.
“We are thrilled at the opportunity to work with a respected journalist like Vince Galloro, who brings our clients exceptional knowledge of the issues facing today’s hospital leaders. He knows Chicago’s rich healthcare trade media community, as well as the industry itself throughout the region. It’s a perfect fit.”
Galloro spent more than 11 years covering the hospital industry for Modern Healthcare, the nation’s leading healthcare business journal. He left the news magazine in November to be the first to join Jarrard Inc.’s new Chicago office, which opened this month to serve clients in the market and throughout the country.
Jarrard Inc. is independently ranked among the top and fastest-growing healthcare communication firms in the U.S.. The Nashville-headquartered firm has experienced annual double digit growth in the last few years. It works with the leaders of healthcare organizations across the country during times of significant transition, challenge and opportunity.
The firm’s Chicago office will serve its existing Midwest-area clients and better position the firm to pursue significant opportunities developing throughout the region.
About Vince Galloro
Galloro covered the U.S. hospital industry at Modern Healthcare with a focus on the financial, growth and operational strategies of hospital organizations. He covered the investor-owned hospital company beat and produced annual enterprise stories on hospital merger-and-acquisition activity and corporate executive pay. In addition, Galloro covered regional hospital news in Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, including certificate-of-need battles, mergers and acquisitions, and other high stakes action.
A lifelong Chicagoan, Galloro earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before joining Modern Healthcare in 2000, he worked for the Daily Herald newspaper based in Arlington Heights, Ill., mostly as a reporter covering local government and business.
Chicago
Chicago is home to more than a dozen major healthcare industry trade media, as well as the headquarters for the American Hospital Association, the American Medical Association and a host of other healthcare trade and professional organizations. Jarrard Inc.’s Chicago presence enables the firm to further its relationships with these groups important to the success of its clients.
In addition, hospitals and health systems throughout the Midwest are undergoing dramatic evolution as they respond to the pressures of healthcare reform, a struggling economy and other factors. Jarrard Inc.’s Chicago office facilitates its existing healthcare work there – for example, assisting Alexian Brothers Health System through its partnership transaction with Ascension Health – and positions the firm to pursue new opportunities in the region.
The firm’s office is located at 120 North LaSalle Street within the downtown Loop.
