MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jackson Memorial Foundation has raised $3 million in recent days to benefit the Jackson Memorial Hospital and Jackson Health System, announced Foundation President and CEO, Rolando Rodriguez.
“Despite the many challenges facing Jackson, people are still in need of help and our magnanimous donors are providing funding to improve the hospital,” he said. “We are deeply grateful to Roberta and Harvey Chaplin, SheiLa and Bill Steiner and our wonderful Guardian Angels for their support.”
In order to provide state-of-the-art digital diagnostic technology, the Chaplins are donating $1.5 million to the Breast Health Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. In support of the hospital and pancreatic cancer research, the Steiners are contributing $1 million. The Guardian Angels raised $500,000 at their recent annual Guardians of the Children Luncheon to help renovate the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Holtz Children’s Hospital.
“It is vital that the community continue to support Jackson, regardless of the challenges it faces,” said Rodriguez. “I am proud that the Foundation’s donors are willing to act.”
