IntelliDose Chemotherapy Management to be Integrated into Allscripts Electronic Health Records

Companies Tightly Integrate Cancer Patient Records for Cross-Specialty Care

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- IntrinsiQ® today announced that Allscripts, the leader in software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, will integrate the IntelliDose® chemotherapy management solution into its product suite as a new offering for physician practices. The IntelliDose solution will enable Allscripts multi-specialty and oncology clients to manage the entire oncology patient care workflow, while leveraging the rich information and existing investment in Allscripts award-winning electronic health record (EHR), electronic prescribing, and practice management solutions.

Created by a team of oncologists and trusted by more than 750 oncologists nationwide, IntelliDose automatically calculates and tracks the precise administration of chemotherapy treatments, instilling high levels of safety and practice efficiency. IntelliDose also captures every aspect of a patient’s care for streamlined billing and reimbursement, and enables physicians to standardize clinical pathways for optimal outcomes.

The agreement with Allscripts will meet the unique demands of the oncology specialty while helping oncology and multi-specialty practices to qualify for federal incentives for EHR adoption under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“Allscripts is pleased to expand the capabilities of our award-winning electronic health records through relationships with leading specialty solution providers like IntrinsiQ,” said Lee Shapiro, President of Allscripts. “IntelliDose creates a rich source of information for our clients to serve their cancer patients with a best-of-breed clinical oncology solution.”

Under the agreement, oncology practices will work with Allscripts account managers in coordination with implementation and training specialists from the IntelliDose team. Integration of IntelliDose into Allscripts solutions will enable Allscripts clients to select the add-on solution to smoothly navigate patient records across both systems without the trouble of manually synchronizing data.

“Our relationship with Allscripts marks another milestone toward achieving truly connected healthcare,” said Jeff Forringer, president of IntrinsiQ. “With 360-degree patient data shared between practices and specialists, healthcare providers are treating more efficiently and effectively -- even in the face of ever-increasing budget pressure.”
