Inova Fairfax Hospital has long been thought of as one of the D.C.-metro area's elite healthcare facilities, and with good reason. Aside from being named as one of the nation's Most Wired hospitals by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine this past July, Inova Fairfax boasts a track record of excellence in heart care, having earned the Gold Plus Award from the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association for "outstanding specialized stroke treatment."
What's more, U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital 24th for gynecology in the nation, the seventh consecutive year the magazine has honored Inova Fairfax for that particular specialty.
This past March, Inova Fairfax earned a Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission for its joint replacement surgery program. "This designation is further evidence that our staff and hospital are committed to providing high-quality orthopedic care," CEO L. Reuven Pasternak said.
In June, Inova Fairfax announced a five-year, $621 million expansion plan that will add two towers, one dedicated to a new women's hospital and another to add 174 private patient rooms, according to the Washington Business Journal.
