Humana Military Healthcare Services, a subsidiary of Humana Inc., has announced the launch of the mobile Humana Military website for mobile phones and tablets.
Some of the traditional website's features such as the provider locator and Tricare eligibility check are now available through iPhone , Android , Blackberry devices, and tablet operating systems, as well as other phones with internet capabilities. Humana Military reported that it also provides an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telephone system, which allows text messaging to an internet enabled phone on topics such as Tricare Prime enrollment payments and a link to the Tricare provider locator.
"Humana Military recognizes the rapid adoption of mobile devices, so we are responding by making new, innovative channels and platforms available to our Tricare beneficiaries," said Dave Baker, president and CEO of Humana Military. "Our new mobile services provide much needed flexibility beyond traditional desktop computers. We're excited about our new mobile web site, and we hope military users will find it very helpful," Baker concluded.
Humana Military, a subsidiary of Humana has been a Department of Defense contractor for the administration of the Tricare program since July 1, 1996. In August 2003, Humana Military was awarded the contract to provide health-benefits support and services to approximately three million active duty and retired military and their eligible family members in the 10-state South Region.
