Wyoming Medical Center CEO Vickie Diamond has noticed that competition from out-of-state hospitals has become more apparent as they try to horn in on her nonprofit hospital's turf, the Casper Star-Tribune reports. Hospitals in Colorado, Utah, South Dakota and Montana are pushing their advertising further into Wyoming, she said. To compete better, the hospital plans to bulk up as part of an accountable care organization. The idea is to increase the number of patients served in order to maintain Medicare reimbursements.
