Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Blue Shield of California and Greater Newport Physicians IPA yesterday announced an accountable care initiative that is set to launch July 1. The three-year ACO partnership between the nonprofit hospital, insurer and independent practice association will target 11,000 Blue Shield HMO members in Orange County. The deal, which is Blue Shield's sixth commercial accountable care organization, is subject to the approval of the California Department of Managed Health Care. Press release
