HKS Expands in Midwest with Opening of Chicago Office

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HKS Architects, Inc., a top-five national architectural firm with 27 U.S. and international offices, is strategically expanding its presence in the Midwest with the opening of its Chicago office. The office is located at 111 West Washington, Suite 1701 – in The Burnham Center – in the Loop.

The firm’s portfolio includes 311 South Wacker – working as architect of record – as well as Park Tower Hotel and Condominiums, the Hyatt Plaza prototype and renovations at U.S. Cellular Field.

Steve Jacobson, director of the Midwest region with HKS, manages the office’s operations. “The Chicago office will work in tandem with our Detroit and Indianapolis offices to serve our Midwest clientele, while offering the resources of a worldwide firm. Currently, we are providing design services for Resurrection Health and a due diligence master study for Trinity Health’s recently acquired Loyola University Medical Center campus.”

Ana Pinto-Alexander, principal with HKS, serves as the nationwide healthcare interior design director. She has more than 25 years of experience designing interiors for the country’s most progressive healthcare facilities. Her portfolio of interior design work includes The Mount Sinai Medical Center, Saint James Olympia Field, Swedish Covenant and master interior design planning at University of Chicago.

Pinto-Alexander has spoken internationally on the importance of the built environment on the healing process. The recipient of numerous awards for her interior design projects, she has also been featured in several national publications including a cover story for Interiors & Sources and was most recently recognized as one of the “25 Most Influential People in Healthcare Design” by Healthcare Design magazine. She works alongside Lisa Adams, who serves as interior design director for the HKS Chicago office.
