HHS Secretary Sebelius to participate in a women’s living room discussion in Denver

Secretary Sebelius to highlight how the health reform law puts Colorado families back in charge of their health care

--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- U.S. Department of Health & Human Services:

WHAT:

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will gather in a living room with Colorado women to hear their stories about lacking the health care security they need, worrying about gaps in coverage for a spouse, parent or child, and facing financial hardship and discrimination from insurance companies. The conversation will take place at the residence of Melanie Herrera-Bortz, and they will discuss how the health reform law, the Affordable Care Act, has put Americans back in charge of their health care since it was signed into law two years ago. Secretary Sebelius will highlight how women in particular are disproportionally impacted by insurance company abuses such as discrimination on pre-existing conditions, coverage recessions and lifetime limits on care.
