The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services honored 37 hospital and healthcare facilities for their efforts to reduce--and eventually eliminate--healthcare-associated infections, the agency announced yesterday. These facilities are the first to be recognized as part of a new national awards program to acknowledge successful and sustained activity to prevent HAIs, especially infections in critical care settings.
