HHS announcement to help states lower Medicaid costs, provide better care

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- On Wednesday, May 11, at 11:00 a.m. (EDT), HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will host a media conference call to announce a series of initiatives to work with states to save money and better coordinate care for Americans enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid. There are approximately 9 million Medicare-Medicaid enrollees nationwide who often have complex medical needs and represent a disproportionately large share of spending in both the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
