(HLI), the global leader in healthcare terminology management, today announced that , America’s market leader of healthcare information technology solutions for rural hospitals, has selected its Language Engine (LE) and provider-friendly terminology (PFT) to enhance documentation and physician workflow in critical access and community hospitals.
Healthland will integrate these tools with its inpatient and outpatient electronic health record (EHR) systems to support terminologies such as SNOMED CT and ICD-10 on a single platform. PFT enhances the clinical workflow by recognizing common clinical expressions, acronyms, and search terms and automatically associating them with standard codes sets, while the LE incorporates algorithms for searching, mapping and updating codes. Together, these solutions ease the transition to ICD-10, simplify problem lists and diagnosis searches, and support Meaningful Use standards.
“We are energized by our partnership with HLI and feel it reinforces our commitment to ensuring that our customers have the tools they need to meet industry regulations and enhance patient care,” said Michael Karaman, senior vice president for product of Healthland. “The tight integration of HLI’s tools within our EHR solutions not only supports legislative standards like Meaningful Use and ICD-10, but enhances and simplifies the physician’s overall experience with the patient record.”
As a result of this partnership, Healthland provider customers will be able to:
“Industry regulations and new care models will most significantly impact organizations that lack the technological and financial resources to adapt to these changes,” said George Schwend, CEO and president of HLI. “Our partnership with Healthland is a strong example of how small and community hospitals can tackle upcoming challenges, position themselves for competitive growth and obtain more value from their EHR systems.”
