Healthland Experiences Success in Arkansas with Several New Customer Signings

Arkansas hospitals will begin to go live with the Healthland Solution this fall

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Healthland, America's market leader of healthcare information technology solutions for rural hospitals, today announced the signings of several Arkansas hospitals including Piggott Community Hospital, DeWitt Hospital, Delta Memorial Hospital and Chicot Memorial Medical Center. The critical access hospitals, all affiliated with the Arkansas Hospital Association, have selected the Healthland Electronic Health Records Solution (EHR) to improve the access of patient information and quality of patient care, while meeting meaningful use guidelines and establishing eligibility for incentive funds.

“We didn’t have an EHR solution prior to Healthland,” said James Magee, Piggott Community Hospital CEO. “Meaningful Use was the key driver in our move toward adopting an EHR, but we also wanted to implement a complete and proven solution to help improve the level of information and accessibility of our patient records – allowing us to provide the best quality healthcare for our community. Healthland understands what it takes to deliver quality healthcare in the rural environment, and one of the primary reasons we selected Healthland is because of the company’s experience and longevity serving the rural healthcare market.”

The Meaningful Use-certified, Healthland EHR is a central repository of all patient information designed to improve quality of care, patient safety and operational efficiencies. From order entry to the secure viewing, sharing and retrieval of patient medical records, the Healthland EHR automates information management at every point of patient care, admission through discharge.

“Critical access hospitals, like Piggott, DeWitt, Delta Memorial and Chicot Memorial Medical Center, are crucial to the health and vitality of the communities they serve,” said Jim Anderson, Healthland senior vice president, sales and services. “It is our mission at Healthland to ensure that communities in rural American have access to local healthcare, which helps keep these communities thriving. We do that with easy-to-use technology, superior service and support that enables rural healthcare providers to focus on what they do best – caring for their family friends and neighbors.”

Piggott Hospital is currently implementing the Healthland Solution and expects to go live this fall, with DeWitt Hospital, Delta Memorial Hospital and Chicot Memorial Medical Center to follow.
