Goba and Aegis Health Group Partner to Help Hospitals Expand Community Wellness Initiatives Using New Mobile Applica

Finding, Engaging in and Inviting Others to Healthy Activities Gets Easier by Going Mobile

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Goba LLC and Aegis Health Group have joined forces to bring to hospitals a unique mobile application expressly designed to encourage participation in local health-related activities and to promote a healthier lifestyle. Goba, which gets its name from “Get Out Be Active,” developed the mobile application that allows users to easily organize and bring individuals together who share common interests using smart phones, texting, or the Web. Aegis is the nation’s leading provider of business development strategies for hospitals.

“Goba’s partnership with Aegis Health Group offers hospitals the opportunity to engage consumers and increase loyalty through technology that is convenient, immediate, friendly and effective,” said Goba CEO John Dayani. “Aegis has a long history of providing progressive business development strategies to hospitals. Goba’s mobile platform is a logical technological addition to their already innovative solutions.”

Aegis’ hospital clients will now have access to the Goba application, which is available free for iPhone and Android platforms. Goba allows hospitals to encourage healthy activities among their own employees as well as the local employers and their workforce with whom the hospitals already have relationships thanks to Aegis’ employer-directed worksite health initiative. Using the mobile app, hospitals can invite Goba users to attend health-related classes or presentations, participate in health fairs, take fitness classes, or join other like-minded residents in healthy activities like hiking or golf.

One mid-western hospital recently became the first healthcare organization to give Goba a try and wholeheartedly embraced it for their employees. The hospital found tremendous value in the technology as it brought employees together for a planned activity. It also allowed the hospital to gain insight into the employees’ interests and identified ways to better serve them with relevant health and wellness activities.

“We believe that high touch and high tech go hand in hand, which is why Aegis has consistently looked to technology as a way to enhance a hospital’s ability to better understand their market place, to build lasting relationships and grow market share,” said Aegis President Pearson Talbert. “Our partnership with Goba is a natural extension of Aegis’ current offerings, and it raises the bar for what hospitals can accomplish through their community and employer-based wellness programs.”
