, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that , a non-profit healthcare organization in the Hartford, Conn., area and a Community Health Center (CHC), has chosen eClinicalWorks comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) solution for its providers across six locations. This brings the total number of CHCs using eClinicalWorks to 450. According to figures by the National Association of Community Health Centers (), there are 1,200 CHCs in the country.

“At First Choice, we strive to provide measurable impact of the health and well-being of the community by providing appropriate, continuous, comprehensive, and high quality health services,” said Eugene Market, CEO of First Choice Health Centers. “We selected eClinicalWorks because of its ability to deliver quality outcomes. We chose an EHR that is responsive, easy to use, and has a successful track record of working well with CHCs. We look forward to working with one of the top vendors in healthcare as we are confident the system will help us achieve meaningful use and Patient-Centered Medical Home™ status in the future.”

CHCs are federally-funded health centers designed to provide high-quality care to patients with limited financial resources. Assisted by federal grant money, these groups have stringent reporting and billing requirements that apply only to this type of center. Using eClinicalWorks, CHCs are able to streamline internal processes between multiple locations and promote patient safety while reducing costs. The comprehensive EHR helps providers take advantage of provisions in the HITECH Act, which authorizes the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to impart a reimbursement incentive for physician and hospital providers who demonstrate the meaningful use of an EHR.

“eClinicalWorks has a solid track record with the unique requirements of community health centers,” said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “First Choice Health Center is committed to providing a measurable impact and eClinicalWorks will deliver the group with a solution to support their community healthcare and to improve the quality of care delivered.”
