Exempla Healthcare Selects ProVation Medical Software for Procedure Documentation and Coding at Multiple Facilities

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that Exempla Healthcare has selected its ProVation® MD software for gastroenterology and pulmonary procedure documentation and coding. ProVation MD will be deployed across three hospitals in the nationally recognized Exempla Healthcare System.

ProVation MD replaces dictation and transcription and allows physicians to efficiently document procedures at the point of care. Available for a full range of medical specialties, ProVation software streamlines the coding and billing process and enhances compliance by producing complete, coding-ready and image-enhanced procedure notes. The end result is greater efficiency, increased profitability and heightened clinician satisfaction.

“At Exempla Healthcare, we are dedicated to providing the safest, most satisfying care and best outcomes to the Denver community,” said David C. Pecoraro, Vice President & Chief Information Officer, Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System. “By simplifying the process physicians use to document and code GI and pulmonary procedures, ProVation MD ensures accurate and efficient results, which furthers our mission by driving enhanced quality of care, improved documentation and coding and more accurate reimbursement levels.”

Headquartered in Denver, Colo., Exempla Healthcare is a not-for-profit, community-based organization sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System and Community First Foundation (formerly LMC Community Foundation). It consists of three Joint Commission accredited hospitals, all of which are also accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Center, and a network of clinics throughout the metro area.

Named one of the nation’s Top 100 Hospitals seven times, the 400-bed Exempla Lutheran Hospital offers a comprehensive spectrum of specialized care and holds national accreditations, including Level III Trauma and Level IIIA Neonatal. The 565-bed Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital has received the National Excellence in Healthcare Four Star Award in pathology and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Beacon Award for Excellence and is a two-time winner of the Voluntary Hospitals of America Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence. The 234-bed Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center is the region’s newest regional medical center, providing 24-hour comprehensive medical services.

“Exempla Healthcare is a nationally recognized, award-winning health system dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care to the Denver community,” said Arvind Subramanian, CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health, Clinical Solutions division. “We are pleased that they have selected ProVation MD to provide streamlined procedure documentation and coding and further this mission.”
