eRx Network, LLC reports success among the recent prescriber National Provider Identifier (NPI) chaos for retail pharmacy. eRx Network was prepared for the arrival of the CMS mandated NPI requirement for prescriber IDs, providing its pharmacies additional support and an "eRx NPI Mapping Edit" that automatically converts legacy prescriber identification numbers to the new required NPI. eRx Network will intelligently map NPIs prospectively based upon the NPI implementation dates specifically required by each pharmacy payer.
eRx Network reports that their NPI Mapping Edit successfully converted over 96% of the unknown prescriber NPI's submitted via the eRx Network claim processing switch since the 23rd of May for those customers utilizing the edit. Without this service, pharmacies have been experiencing approximately a 35% rejection rate on claims requiring the prescriber's NPI.
