This year's conference provided users with detailed instructions on how to achieve Meaningful Use through use of the e-MDs EHR and reporting capabilities.  UCS10 events also focused on other current healthcare information technology topics, including quality of care improvements, clinical informatics, HIT Policy, patient safety, HIPAA security, practice optimization, coding audit protection, health information exchange, and advanced uses of technology.

A number of e-MDs clients also delivered presentations describing how they are able to use the software in effecting clinical and business process improvements that have improved their practice operations. "e-MDs has a knowledgeable and approachable management team, which translates well into the product," said R. Todd Stewart, MD, West Arkansas Medical Associates, LLC.  "As usual, the e-MDs User Conference provided insight into practical ways to succeed in private practice. I attended several seminars on the new Meaningful Use criteria and patient-centered medical home. The takeaway information was clear, and hopefully as I implement the ideas, they will quickly translate into a better quality practice for my patients and myself."

Over the past few years e-MDs has been providing attendees with increasingly deeper levels of exposure to the underlying principles of clinical informatics that are guiding health information technology efforts worldwide. This was evidenced by the keynote presentation by Dr. Chute, one of the best known clinical informaticists in the U.S. and Europe.  "We feel that the success of health information technology will be tied to a deeper understanding of the principles of biomedical informatics, supported by decades of experience and literature.  This conference will continue to grow as an educational resource to our customers," stated Michael Stearns, MD, e-MDs President and CEO.

e-MDs partnered with Primary Care Network at the sixth annual conference, while Microsoft, Dell and Gateway EDI all served as sponsors of the event.  This year's conference offered continuing medical education (CME) accredited courses and provided professionals the opportunity to earn up to 12.25 hours of CME.
