, a national leader in the field of hospital medicine and critical care medicine, has launched a full-service hospitalist program at , a 65-bed acute care center in Atlanta, Texas, officials announced today.

“We’re committed to continuously increasing the strength of care we provide our patients in the Atlanta area,” said Debbie Robison, Chief Executive Officer for Atlanta Memorial Hospital. “Cogent HMG has a longstanding history of service excellence in the hospital medicine field nationally, as well as within Texarkana and the surrounding communities.”

The partnership is a result of Cogent HMG’s long-time client in Texarkana, , who recently announced a partnership with Atlanta Memorial Hospital to begin providing health services as CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital-Atlanta, beginning January 2013. The hospitalist program will be led by Program Medical Director, Steven Glenn, M.D. and Program Manager, Jerry Chapman from Cogent HMG, and will include two full-time hospitalist physicians.
