Hospitals have a one-week extension for submitting certain first-quarter data to the hospital inpatient and outpatient quality reporting programs, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid said Friday. CMS granted the extension citing "high volume report traffic and performance issues with the reports," the agency said. CMS is extending the inpatient and outpatient quality reporting program deadlines for submitting population and sampling data from Aug. 1 to Aug. 8.
