FORT LAUDEREDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cigna and HCA affiliated Florida Hospitals have reached a two-year agreement effective September 22, 2011. This agreement is for all 40 of HCA’s affiliated Florida hospitals and the 36 HCA affiliated Florida surgery centers. The agreement affects all health products.

Thirty HCA affiliated Florida hospitals were named last week as the nation’s top performers on key quality measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America. The hospitals earning this designation were recognized by The Joint Commission based on data reported about evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care and children’s asthma.
