Children's Hospital of Orange County Selects MobileMD for Health Information Exchange

WARMINSTER, Pa., May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileMD, Inc. announced today an agreement with Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children's) that will enable the pediatric facility – the fastest-growing in California – to provide state-of-the-art health information exchange (HIE) services to its more than 800 physicians and 1,000 referring physicians.

"Our top objective for procuring a health information exchange was to simplify operations by creating a seamless backbone for clinical exchange between CHOC's physician partners' acute and ambulatory EMRs," said CHOC Vice President and CIO Mark Headland.  "The HIE platform serves as a conduit for clinical orders, results, referrals and other messages between CHOC and affiliated providers while providing the basis for aggregation, analytics, and decision support required to stay competitive in today's rapidly evolving healthcare delivery world."

MobileMD 4D HIE™ provides secure clinical and administrative data exchange between all providers caring for patients within a community regardless of location, EMR technology, or vendor.  The company will deploy its 4D HIE™ comprised of its flagship products, 4DX Intelligence Engine Network and 4DX Clinical Portal, to improve critical care information flow among community physician partners and facilitate physician alignment across CHOC's provider network.

Pleased with the addition of CHOC, MobileMD's Chief Executive Officer Todd Fisher said, "We are excited about our newly formed relationship with CHOC Children's.  While we've successfully delivered our products and services to all types of providers, CHOC's progressive technology and services approach offer an HIE product showcase for the greater CHOC community.  Working closely with CHOC, we believe many patients, providers, and organizations will benefit both directly and indirectly."
