CDC: Hospitalizations high with flu activity

The number of Americans seeing their provider for flu-like illness has doubled in the past four weeks to 5.6 percent, more than double than the last flu season, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday. Although the CDC couldn't say for certain how severe this flu season will be, it said flu hospitalizations are "high" for this time of year. Since October, flu-related hospitalizations account for 8.1 per 100,000 people. Announcement
