CareSource Selects MicroStrategy for Mobile App Platform

MicroStrategy Chosen Following Extensive Analysis of Competitive Business Intelligence Products

TYSONS CORNER, Va., Sept. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence (BI) software, today announced that CareSource has chosen the new MicroStrategy-based Mobile BI platform following a competitive evaluation of business intelligence products. CareSource will rely on the MicroStrategy platform to measure service quality within its provider network. CareSource, based in Dayton, Ohio, is a major not-for-profit, public-sector managed healthcare company that offers services to roughly 870,000 members in Ohio and Michigan.

CareSource plans to develop a reporting iPhone app built on the MicroStrategy Mobile platform that will allow employees to remotely access key Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) quality measures in a visual, intuitive way. The mobile app will leverage HEDIS measures, which are used by more than 90 percent of America's health plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service.

"Our MicroStrategy-based Mobile BI solution will provide personnel with the enhanced insight and analytic capabilities to make in-location decisions and ensure that our at-risk members receive cost effective and proactive care," said Paul Stoddard, Chief Information Officer at CareSource.

"More and more healthcare organizations are recognizing the value of accessing and analyzing critical data, anytime and anywhere, from a mobile device," said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy Chief Operating Officer. "By turning mobile devices into powerful BI tools, not-for-profit healthcare organizations are incorporating mobile intelligence into their operations to improve access to preventative services and making a difference in the care that at-risk communities receive."
